The Golf R Cabriolet from March 2013

the Golf R Cabriolet from March 2013,Golf Mk6 ,Golf R Cabriolet,Volkswagen Golf R,Scirocco R coupe sister,Golf R hatch,Golf R's over,GTI hard-top,VW pitch
Volkswagen will begin taking orders on the Golf R Cabriolet from March 2013, with first deliveries starting in April 2013. The soft-top Golf R marks the last hurrah for Golf Mk6 production, as the sharp new Mk7 Golf takes over the mantle.
What's under the bonnet of the 2013 Volkswagen Golf R?

Although the engine is shared with the Golf R hatchback, the drivetrain isn't. So you still get a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-pot, good for 265bhp and 258lb ft, but all-wheel drive has been binned.

The Golf R Cabriolet will be front wheel-drive only, like its Scirocco R coupe sister.

That'll keep the Golf R Cabriolet's weight closer to its soft-top GTI sister's total of 1555kg. In comparison, an all-wheel-drive Golf R hatch weighs in at 1521kg.
I bet this'll be a pricey Golf...

You're not wrong. VW hasn't yet revealed pricing for the Golf R Cabriolet, but CAR understands it will carry premium over a GTI Cabriolet, similar to a Golf R's over a GTI hard-top.

That's around £6000 extra, pitching the Golf R Cabriolet at around £36,000. It's comfortably the priciest production Golf yet.

Check out the video below to see VW pitch the Golf R Cabriolet against an aerobatics plane.

The new BMW Z4 for 2013

BMW Z4,BMW 4-series,2013 BMW Z4,Z4sDrive20i,18i BMW Z4 cheaper,Audi TT Roadster 1.8 TFSI,Mercedes SLK 200,Valencia Orange,BMW 1-series M Coupe,Ferrari California
This is (really) the new BMW Z4 for 2013. Granted, the tweaked head- and tail-lights, and new side vent modelled on the BMW 4-series are subtle alterations at best.

It's what's under the bonnet is of more interest, if you've always fancied one of BMW's folding hard-top sports cars on your driveway.
A new engine for the 2013 BMW Z4?

Yes indeed: a new 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder, clumsily badged as Z4sDrive18i. It's actually a detuned version of the same 2.0-litre unit found in the (you've guessed it) Z4sDrive20i.

Power outputs in the entry-level car stand at 154bhp and 177lb ft. That's 28bhp/22lb ft less than the next model up. Unsurprisingly, it's the slowest Z4 in the range, hitting 62mph in 7.9sec and topping out at 137mph.

The My-First-Z4 achieves 41.5mpg and 159g/km of CO2 according to BMW – identical figures to not just the 20i, but also the 2.8i, which boasts 244bhp and 258 lb ft.
But is the entry level 18i BMW Z4 cheaper?

Yes, by a sizeable £2100 versus the 20i. Prices start at £27,610 for a manual transmission car, though an eight-speed automatic is also available.

That price tag puts the 18i Z4 in the same cost ballpark as the similarly powerful Audi TT Roadster 1.8 TFSI, and £2375 cheaper than the Mercedes SLK 200.
Any more BMW Z4 news?

Well, there's a new colour: Valencia Orange as seen in our gallery is the same hue made famous by the BMW 1-series M Coupe.

However, on the Z4 you can ape the Ferrari California by speccing a contrasting black roof.

Honda recall about 1.5 million vehicles due to stalls,Shifting Problem

Honda recall about 1.5 million vehicles due to stalls..Honda Motor Co. will recall 1.51 million vehicles in the United States to address complaints of engine stalls and vehicles shifting out of park.
Honda will update software that controls the automatic transmission to ease the transition between gears and prevent damage after it has seen 113 claims, including 45 for engine stalls and 11 claims for vehicles moving shifting out of park.

The recall includes 1.5 million vehicles in the United States, 760,000 in China and 135,142 in Canada, the automaker said on Friday.

Globally, the recall affects four-cylinder Accord sedans for the model years 2005 to 2010.

The company is also recalling vehicles in parts of Europe, the Middle East, South America, Mexico and Puerto Rico. The recall did not affect vehicles sold in Honda’s home Japan market.

In the US and Canada, the recall also includes the CR-V crossover for the model years 2007 to 2010 as well as the small SUV Element from 2005 to 2008.

In China, the recall also includes more than 160,000 Odyssey minivans from 2005 to 2009 and around 4,000 Spirior cars, which are based on the European version of the Accord, for the 2010 model year.

Without updating the software, the automatic transmission in these vehicles could be damaged if the driver quickly shifts between gears. That might cause the engine to stall or make it difficult to put the car into park.

This week, Consumer Reports said it was not recommending the 2012 Honda Civic. This has led some industry analysts to ask if that is a symptom of larger problems at the automaker, which ranks fifth in US sales this year.

The company has said it disagreed with the influential US consumer advocate’s assessment.

Chris Martin, Honda spokesman at the company’s US headquarters in California, said on Friday that the recall was not a sign of deeper difficulties.

Martin said the current recall was the result of “extremely unusual circumstances. The far majority of our consumers would never really encounter this. It’s software programing. It’s not a weakness in the transmission per se.”

No injuries or deaths have been reported from this problem, Martin said.

Honda said the problems might arise if the transmission were quickly shifted between the reverse, neutral and drive positions. A driver might do this in an attempt to dislodge a vehicle in mud or snow.

The automatic transmission secondary shaft bearing could be damaged in this scenario.

An update to transmission control module software will ease the transition between gears and reduce the possibility of damage.

Honda will begin informing US consumers at the end of August. It did not disclose expected cost of the recall.

The software update will take about a half-hour, but customers may have to leave their cars at Honda dealerships for a longer period, Martin said.

Malaysia Will Pull Back Honda Jazz and City

Honda Motor Company Honda Malaysia has announced a recall of 21,956 units of Honda City made in 2009 and 1680 units of Honda Jazz made in 2009 to 2010.

Honda previously rumored to be attracted as many as 700,000 units its products in different countries because there is a problem on the component that serves Lost Motion Spring pressing the rocker arm at low rpm.

components can be curved and broken, causing abnormal engine noise in the possibility of a hurry potentially causing the engine stalled.
