Increased strength of NATO's embargo on Libya

The Dutch will join the NATO military campaign in Libya. 6 F-16 fighter jets, destroyers, mine and a tanker aircraft will join the Allied forces.

"We have decided to contribute to the implementation of UN resolution 1973." said Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte after a special cabinet meeting in the Hague to discuss NATO's decision to embargo on Libya, on Wednesday (23/03/2011). Such as written AFP.

Rutte add a contribution in the form of sending six F-16s, DC-10 tanker aircraft and a minesweeper. "This contribution to strengthen the embargo against Libya pressure," he said.

Meanwhile, Dutch Defense Minister Hans Hillen add 200 soldiers will join the Dutch in this mission. Hillen explained the mission of the Netherlands will run for 3 months, but if necessary can be lengthened.

The Netherlands will join with the United States, France, Britain, Italy and Canada. The strength of this coalition warplanes reinforced dozens and dozens of sophisticated warships.

The Nuclear Crisis in Fukushima Japan

The nuclear crisis in Japan escalated as a third explosion in four days rocked the struggling power plant in the country's stricken north-east, according to its nuclear safety watchdog. Tokyo had already called in international help to tackle the escalating crisis.

Non-essential technicians were evacuated from the facility after radiation levels around the Fukushima No 1 power plant briefly rose four-fold in the wake of the blast, which appears to be the most serious to date.

A massive surge of water has caused widespread devastation across Japan, after an 8.9-magnitude earthquake off shore prompted a large tsunami.

Local media has reported 26 deaths in at least four different prefectures, while Reuters said the main tsunami reached up to 10 metres in size.
