Flooding in Virginia, Maryland, New York and Pennsylvania was caused by heavy rain that fell continuously as a result of the remnants of tropical storm Lee, who several days ago struck the Gulf Coast region. More than 130 thousand people have been evacuated due to flooding.
According to local authorities as reported by The New York Times, Friday (9/9/2011), with the floods this means at least 11 people have died since the storm hit last week Lee.
